Friday evening, July 30th through Friday, August 6th
The 2004 ETR will start immediately after this tour, less than 30 miles away.
We will be riding around or in the area of 3 of the ten distinctive Finger Lakes, with an abundance of wonderful biking. You'll cycle along the lakeshores, riding past waterfalls, orchards, vineyards, and spectacular views. Enjoy tandeming with others along valleys, hills, and across farmlands with quiet country roads. You'll pass sprawling fields of colorful crops, like sunflowers on Canandaigua Lake and rolling vineyards on Keuka and Seneca Lakes.
Taste the best of New York State - great food at restaurants overlooking the water, fine wines like Merlots and Chardonnays from vineyards overlooking Seneca Lake, and grape pies from farms near Canandaigua Lake.
Explore the wonderful Watkins Glen gorge, where rippling waterfalls cut through the deep stone.
Discover the beauty of Sonnenburg Gardens in Canandaigua, strolling through the nationally famous color gardens established there in the mid 1800's. Relax at our lake front lodging on Canandaigua, and stroll downtown Watkins Glen from our convenient lodging there. As you ride, you'll discover why this region of New York State has been valued as a beautiful summer getaway.

September 11th through September 18th
The Finger Lakes at their peak, with vineyards and farms set for harvest and the countryside all green and beautiful. We'll be riding to and around Keuka Lake, famous for its wineries, lakeside cottages, and village square surrounded by neat stores and taverns. The Crooked Lake Ice Cream Parlor is a favorite stop after rides and for breakfast!
The rides go along parts of seven of the distinctive Finger Lakes, with their small friendly villages.
We'll tandem past the village where Memorial Day was founded, Waterloo, called "the nicest little village in New York." The next day, we can stop in Seneca Falls, where women started changing the world with the Women's Rights Movement. There are great museums, wonderful Federal homes made of cobblestone, orchards, vineyards, Amish homesteads and broad farmland.
Riding along rivers and canals, we'll tandem through the Finger Lake valleys on routes picked for the best roads, scenic views and reasonable slopes. Great foods and New York State wines, restaurants overlooking the lakes and vineyards, roads rolling through the countryside - these make for a wonderful time.
The famous Sherwood Inn in Skaneateles (pronounced "Skinny Atlas") has wide plank floors, fireplaces, and antique filled bedrooms. Hey, even Presidents have enjoyed it's hospitality. Snazzy shops and famous art in the library (yes, that's right) can be great places to rest and relax.
And then on to Ithaca, with our favorite Ice Cream store in New York!
